My name is Olivier Van Borm, born in Bruges in 1980. As a child, I was always playing outside and traveled all over the world with my parents. This sparked my fascination with the beauty of our planet, especially nature in its purest, undisturbed form. (Though I do acknowledge there are also less beautiful places.)
Photography has always been my passion. Capturing unique moments is what drives me — which is why I’m more drawn to nature photography than buildings. Every moment in nature is one of a kind, and that’s what makes it so special.
At the beginning of 2024, I decided to fully pursue my passion and turn it into something meaningful. Since then, I’ve been focusing on photography professionally. That said, I must admit I feel most at home when surrounded by nature.

Nature & Photography: My Passion for the Outdoors
From a young age, I've been captivated by nature and the outdoors—two realms that seem to have gradually faded away in Belgium. Photography has enchanted me for two decades, and after receiving countless enthusiastic comments, I decided to truly follow my calling. My work spans three interconnected fields: landscapes, animals, and macro photography.
Landscapes In a world that increasingly feels manufactured, we lose the art of pausing to appreciate the natural beauty surrounding us. We become entangled in a digital illusion where the genuine and the computer-generated are ever harder to distinguish. This realization makes me see that we are living more and more in a human-constructed reality, all while the raw power of nature—the very source of our food and life—no longer receives the reverence it deserves. Whether it’s the serene calm or the dynamic fury of a storm, flood, or raging forest fire, nature repeatedly unveils its overwhelming grandeur. Through my photos, I hope to inspire people to pause, look around, and rediscover the wonders of the world that envelop us.
Animals Wild animals have always fascinated me, especially when seen in their natural habitat, far removed from human interference. There is a magical moment when you come face-to-face with a fox, its eyes meeting yours briefly yet powerfully, just before it slips back into the wild. For me, capturing these fleeting moments signifies a deep respect for nature—ensuring that its untamed essence remains undisturbed. I firmly believe that feeding wild animals just for that perfect snapshot contradicts this principle, as even the slightest interference can upset the fragile balance of their world. Watching these creatures sometimes transports me back to my carefree childhood—days spent playing outdoors and building forts—making me wonder if our modern evolution has, in fact, left us less content than before.
Macro Photography Macro photography is all about unveiling the invisible life—a vibrant, miniature world full of intricate details that often goes unnoticed. Observing a bee diligently collecting nectar and subsequently pollinating a flower reveals the exquisite complexity of a tiny universe, where every minute detail tells its own story. Each shot gains an extra layer of life and dynamism, continuously surprising us with the inherent beauty of this vast little world.
